This DIP socket has 18 pins, 2.54 mm pitch, 7.62 mm row spacing, and through hole terminals. Useful for easy removal instead of directly soldering to a PCB.

Why solder components like your favorite CPU, PIC, DIC, or whatever you have in yer garage directly to that rusty PCB you got layin' around when ya don't need to?
